The Egyptian Exchange (EGX, البورصة المصرية) is Egypt's official securities market, headquartered in Cairo with a branch in Alexandria. Founded in 1883, it is one of the oldest stock exchanges in the world. It lists equities (stocks of Egyptian companies), exchange-traded funds (ETFs), government and corporate bonds, and other financial instruments.
The EGX operates through FRA-licensed brokerage firms. Individual investors open a brokerage account to trade. The main indices tracked are EGX30 (the 30 most actively traded blue-chip stocks), EGX70 (next 70 stocks by liquidity), and EGX100 (the combined 100).
